About The Monthly Planet

The Monthly Planet (ISSN 1042-3249), a newspaper covering peace, social justice, and environmental issues, with a focus on the arms race and the movement against it, was published by the Nuclear Weapons Freeze of Santa Cruz County from March 1985 to March 1994. During its nine-year run 90 issues were produced, ranging from 16 to 56 pages each. The Planet was distributed locally in the Santa Cruz, CA area, and mailed to subscribers throughout the US.

See the PDFs page for links to the PDFs of each issue.

Support This Website

As The Monthly Planet no longer officially exists, this website is a personal project. I've spent several hundred dollars on a tabloid-sized scanner, and also pay for the web hosting. If you want to throw me a few bucks I'd appreciate it. I'm not an official non-profit or anything, so you would simply be sending me money with no tax deduction involved.

You can send me money through my personal Paypal account. Thanks! -John Govsky
